Aarhus based 87solutions I/S has just released a new service for organizing carpooling in Australia and New Zealand. The service is called http://thumbsurfing.com.
A carpooling service is not a new domain for 87solutions. The company also develop and run Fincle.com where they have had some major Danish companies as customers.
A few days ago CoMON presented a list of 20 of the most promising Danish IT-startups.
Some Aarhus based startups found their way to the list. Firmafon.dk, founded by my good friend Niklas Stephenson has been chosen to be among the 20 companies. And knowing Niklas and the team’s competences so well in my opinion Firmafon is absolutely among the most likely to succed. In short terms Firmafon is a virtual switchboard for small and medium sized companies. Niklas and the team has been working hard to focus on this size of companies, because there is an open niche where the large telephone providers doesn’t cover the marked.
Also Nabto.com is also represented on the list. Funny enough my office is on the same level as Nabto.coms office in Incuba Science Park. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with the founder Carsten Roed Gregersen a few times during the two years, and it is impressive to see how this three-year-old company has developed to becoming a very promising project. Nabto has won a lot of prizes and has been awarded at several occasions before, but I’m sure that this nomination will make any company proud.
